Scrabble Tuesday

Who needs Pancake Tuesday when you can have Scrabble Tuesday?
It was a pretty good game tonight against The Z In My Scrabble Rack, as we both pulled off some excellent moves in what for most of the game was pretty close. I was only able to pull away a bit later on, resulting in a 395-222 win.
There were several key moves during the game, and two of them were together. Firstly, she played ZORB and BLEAK (leak was already there), and with the first word being double word, and the B being on double letter, it scored a total of 50 points. For those of you who don’t know, a zorb is a sphere often used in extreme sports.
Then I made the move down the bottom playing JUROR which also made MOVER (move already being there, the blank being used as an O). The J was on double letter and it also straddled the triple word, which meant the move scored a total of 67 points.
Other key moves were QUOTA and FA (Q and A on triple letter, thus scoring 43) and VENDS and SHORED (the V being on triple letter, also double word, with shore already there) for 44.
Seasoned Scrabble fans will note again the key use of two letter words, notably NY (obsolete spelling of nigh), OX (bovine animal), FA (musical note) and IO (interjection expressing joy).
Scrabble anyone????
